Overview
The Jointed Mouth Pelham Bit is stainless steel with a single jointed mouthpiece. The jointed mouthpiece increases the pressure on the bars, sides of the tongue, and the lips as the mouthpiece breaks over in a "nutcracker" action. When this bit is used with a double set of reins is combines the function of a snaffle and the action of a curb bit. The top rein provides snaffle pressure to the tongue and corners of the mouth, while the bottom rein increases leverage and curb pressure.
The Jointed Mouth Pelham Bit has a mouth thickness of 12mm. The 5" mouthpiece features 4 3/4" cheeks and the 5 1/2" mouthpiece has 6" cheeks.
Comes with hooks and chain.
