The Comfort Gait Shank Bit has 5" shanks and is stainless steel with an inlaid copper mouth and copper roller. It features a gentle, pinch-free mouthpiece that extends beyond the horse's lips for better communication, plenty of tongue relief and resistance free action across the tongue, bars and lips. Flush brass fittings in the pinch-less mouthpiece and cheekpieces provide smooth, independent action from side to side. This independent action allows the rider to work the horse laterally, as well as lift a shoulder or use a leading rein.

These actions are enhanced by the shape and length of the mouthpiece, which is designed to extend slightly beyond the horse’s lips, and gives a smooth, rolling request at the lips, rather than a direct yanking action.

This eliminates any chance of lip irritation and increases willingness, suppleness and communication. It also enables proper sizing for mouths ranging in width from 4-1/2" to 5-1/2". If the bit fits more snugly, it is not a problem due to the pinchless design.

The copper inlay and copper roller not only helps pacify a nervous horse but also encourages salivation to keep the horses mouth soft and wet.
