The Kelly Silver Star - Loose Ring Snaffle Bit With Copper & Stainless Steel Rollers is often used for horses that need something stronger than a regular jointed bit. It features alternating copper and stainless steel rollers set along the mouthpiece which allows the bit to roll up the mouth, and help to prevent the horse from grabbing it between his teeth. The rollers also encourage a soft, moist mouth and can help calm a nervous horse or pacify a bored horse. The loose rings slide through the mouthpiece and tends to make the horse relax his jaw and chew the bit. The jointed mouthpiece applies pressure to the lips, tongue and bars with a "nutcracker" action and can contact the palate. This Loose Ring Snaffle Bit has 3" rings.
