Choose from a wide variety of Kimberwick horse bits at great low prices. Kimberwick horse bits are a type of curb (leverage) bit with D-shaped rings on either side of the horse's mouth. The curb effect of the Kimberwick applies pressure not only in the mouth but at the poll and under the jaw where the chain rests. One of the most common Kimberwicks is the Uxeter Kimberwick. It features slots in the curved portion of the D, so that the rein is fixed. The further the reins are down the D ring, the more leverage is applied. The lower slot will have more curb action than the upper slot. This is a bit commonly used in general riding and provides more control to a horse that may be a strong puller. Kimberwicks also offer the rider a slight curb effect without the risk of a shank getting caught on something.
