Overview
This Tom Thumb Bit is stainless steel with a copper mouthpiece and 6" cheeks. It features a jointed mouth which applies pressure to the lips, tongue and bars with a "nutcracker" action. The copper mouthpiece encourages salivation and keeps the horses mouth soft.
The Tom Thumb Bit also has loose cheeks which move independently allowing for more lateral flexibility. This bit uses a small amount of curb pressure or leverage. Works as an excellent transition bit from a ring snaffle to a longer shanked bit or to a curb bit.
