Overview
The Tom Thumb Bit With Copper Roller is stainless steel with a 5" mouthpiece and 6 3/4" cheeks. The copper roller encourages salivation for a soft, moist mouth and it also tends to act as a pacifier for nervous horses. The mouthpiece bends over the bars at a better angle than a solid or single jointed mouthpiece, allowing contact to new nerves for better control.
The loose shanks move independently allowing for more lateral flexibility. It uses a small amount of curb pressure or leverage. The 3-piece design of this bit reduces the "nutcracker" effect which is found in most single jointed bits.
